Why the name changed

If you found this page by Googling "what happened to BetterAir," the short version is this: the company didn't go anywhere. The name did.

For most of our history, BetterAir was a business-to-business operation. Our probiotic systems lived in hospitals, schools, assisted-living facilities, gyms, hotels, food-processing plants, and large commercial buildings. We did good work, the technology proved itself in environments that don't forgive overpromising, and the brand name fit the audience, a hospital procurement team is comfortable signing a contract with a company called BetterAir.

A parent looking for an air-quality solution for their nursery is not. Or, more precisely, they didn't know we existed in the first place, because "BetterAir" sounded like a hundred other indoor-air-quality vendors fighting over the same shelf.

In 2025 we made two changes at the same time. We rebranded as EnviroBiotics to reflect what the technology actually is, environmental probiotics, and we launched a consumer-focused product line built around the homes, families, and individual rooms our institutional customers had been asking us to help with for years. The rebrand wasn't a pivot. It was a long-overdue acknowledgment that the same technology serving a 200,000 sq ft hospital is also the right technology for a three-bedroom house.

What stayed the same

This is the part most existing BetterAir customers care about. Let's get it out of the way clearly.

The technology is identical. EnviroBiotics products use the same beneficial *Bacillus* probiotic system that BetterAir products used. Same strains, same mechanism, same competitive-exclusion approach. If you ran a BetterAir unit in 2022, the active biology in your current EnviroBiotics unit is the one you already trusted.

The clinical and lab data carried over. The Indoor Biotechnologies allergen study, the Genova University Department of Experimental Medicine results (67% surface virus reduction within 15 minutes, 97.7% within three hours), and the published institutional deployment data are all the same body of evidence. We didn't restart the science clock when we changed the name.

The certifications carried over, and we added more. FDA GRAS (Generally Recognized as Safe), EPA registered, no ozone, no VOCs, no chemical residue. We've since added MADE SAFE certification, which we didn't carry under the BetterAir name.

Your warranty still works. If you bought a BetterAir unit and it has remaining warranty coverage, that coverage is honored by EnviroBiotics. We didn't reset warranty terms at the rebrand. What's actually new

Three things changed at the rebrand that are worth knowing about.

1. A consumer-focused product line

The BetterAir lineup was largely an institutional catalog with a couple of consumer overflows. The current EnviroBiotics lineup leads with home use:

BioLogic Mini, entry-level portable room device. The product that makes "try the technology in your bedroom for under a hundred dollars" a real sentence. BioLogic Mini Gen 2, launched April 2025. Designed for spaces up to 300 sq ft (bedrooms, nurseries, hotel rooms, vehicles). Adds ultra-quiet operation, low-battery and fluid indicators, and a Nighttime Mode that turns off every indicator light. This is the nursery-friendly unit. Biotica 800, mid-range room device. BA-2080, advanced single-room purification unit (the one you may have seen referenced under the BetterAir name in earlier reviews). E-Biotic Pro, launched April 2025. Whole-home / whole-building HVAC-connected system that covers up to 25,000 sq ft and disperses probiotics through your existing supply ducts. This replaces the older "HVAC Series" placeholder and is installed by certified contractors.

2. Two paths off the homepage

The new website acknowledges that "Room" and "Whole-Home" are two different decisions made by two different kinds of buyers. A renter in a one-bedroom apartment doesn't need an HVAC system; an empty-nester finishing a 3,000 sq ft basement renovation doesn't want to run six portable units. The site forks early so each buyer ends up on the right page.

3. Distribution channels

Under BetterAir, almost everything went through institutional contracts. Under EnviroBiotics, you can buy direct-to-consumer at envirobiotics.com, the BioLogic Mini, Biotica 800, BA-2080, and BioLogic Mini Gen 2 ship to your door. Lowe's, the E-Biotic Pro is listed there, which is the brand's mass-market trust signal. Certified contractor / installer network, companies like GreenWorks Environmental and Natural Air Solution handle the installed E-Biotic Pro bundle (around $2,895 including professional install and first-year solution).
